Chart notes
SURFBOARD was away alertly to contest the early pace on the inside, eased back off the lead, tracked inside on the turn, angled out four wide into the stretch, rallied outside, closed willingly in the final furlong, gained command in deep stretch and was in hand the final strides. MALINOIS was off a bit slow, rushed up on the rail to contest the pace, dueled inside on the turn, gained a short lead, dug in gamely in the stretch run and came up second best. I HAD ENOUGH showed speed racing two wide, dueled between rivals on the turn, dug in and held for third. RUBYS FLASH stalked close up outside, bid three wide on the turn, dueled outside rivals and weakened in the lane. RUM TUM TUGGER was off slowly, stalked outside, raced two wide on the turn, came five wide into the lane and tired.
