Chart notes
SMOOTH RICO stalked two wide, then chased, made a strong bid at the quarter pole, bumped with GOLDEN TALENT at the top of the stretch, then dueled with that rival through the stretch and prevailed. GOLDEN TALENT set the pace on the inside, dueled with SMOOTH RICO turning for home, bumped with that rival, then dug in gamely inside and battled gamely to the end. HOLY CITY trailed the field, moved up three wide turn, rallied three wide into the stretch and closed mildly. TIEMPO PERFECTO raced three wide off the pace, moved up between rivals entering the stretch and lacked a rally. SMART AND FAST raced two wide off the pace, chased inside on the turn and faded. NINTH OF APRIL raced off the pace inside, dropped back on the turn and gave way.
