Chart notes
MAGAZINE broke alertly and dictated terms in the early stages, set moderate fractions while prompted into the far turn, shook free into upper stretch and drew clear nearing the furlong marker, was kept to task under firm urging to the sixteenth-marker and was geared down in deep stretch to be much the best. ADAPTED MEMORY tracked the pacesetter into the first turn then advanced along the backstretch run and prompted the moderate pace into the second turn, kept close attendance to MAGAZINE to the quarter marker, lost ground into upper stretch, was no match for the winner in the final furlong and outfinished GIANT KID in deep stretch to be best of the rest. GIANT KID took back off of the decent early pace and saved ground into the first turn, stalked the moderate pace through the backstretch run, came within aim while two wide nearing the quarter marker, chased MAGAZINE to mid-stretch, tired in the final sixteenth and was outfinished for second, while clear in the end for third. GADDING bobbled at the start then was crowed leaving the break and was away a bit slowly, settled off of the early pace, advanced outside of rivals along the backstretch run, gained ground three wide on the far turn, could not sustain that bid into the drive and weakened. RAFANELLI broke out a bit leaving the start, settled in the second flight in the early stages, raced between rivals along the backstretch run, was shuffled back nearing the half-mile marker, chased along the far turn, could not keep pace into the stretch and gave way. GRASPY settled just off of the early pace while inside of rivals, tracked the pace to the half-mile marker and dropped back along the second turn.
