Chart notes
NEVERPOPTHECORK settled in the three path the opening turn, started a four wide bid approaching the three eighths pole and took the nod at the five sixteenths, rounded the far turn off the rail and held well under steady stretch handling. OFFICER STONE raced boxed in on the first turn, picked up the chase toward the seven sixteenths pole and improved in the four path of the far turn, then dueled through later yards for second. RED HOT TODDY stalked three wide on the first turn, took the nod toward the three eighths pole and dueled from that point, was met at the five sixteenths, came in a path past the pole then dropped back and flattened stride into the far turn. DE'S CASTLE stalked two deep then took the nod into the backstretch and dueled from that point, was forced in and had his heels clipped past the five sixteenths pole then faded off the rail on the far turn. IN HIGH GEAR stalked off the rail the first turn, gave chase from the seven sixteenths pole but weakened approaching the far turn. HILLBILLY ROCK saved ground well off the pace, gave chase leaving the three eighths pole, fell over MONKEY WRENCH past the five sixteenths pole but got up and walked off. The latter took the lead leaving the thirteen sixteenths pole and moved to the inside to rate the pace, was met into the backstretch and dueled from that point, but steadied while in tight quarters at the rail, clipped the heels of De's Castle and fell passing the five sixteenths pole, but got up and walked off. A Stewards inquiry resulted in the disqualification of Red Hot Toddy to fifth place for causing the incident leaving the five sixteenths pole.
