Chart notes
MARINA'S GOLD raced two to three wide into the first turn and settled nicely in stalking position, picked up the pace midway around the far turn, launched a bid for the leader approaching the quarter pole, ran on three wide into the lane, raced in striking distance, dug in determinedly under firm handling and drew clear in the final sixteenth. MIDNIGHTCANDYSTORM was allowed to settle out of the gate and raced four wide around the first turn, continued well off the pace up the backstretch, picked up the tempo four wide late on the far turn, hustled along the outside into the lane, responded under pressure and gained second best. DO YOU BILEVE sped to the lead at the start and led the way around the first turn, set a pressured pace up the backstretch then held clear around the far turn, battled back under pressure from eventual winner mid-stretch, could not hold off rival approaching the sixteenth pole, weakened and lost place. STONECOLD STUNNER was unhurried and raced in or near the back through early stages, hustled up three to four wide around the far turn and lacked a needed rally in the lane. SUGAR BELL pressed the pace up the backstretch, chased up close around the far turn, continued in contention to the eighth pole then retreated. SUPER EMPIRE came up empty after a half and steadily retreated.
