NOSTALGIC went four wide on the first turn, settled at the back with the benefit of cover, was asked while three then four wide on the far turn, chased outside into the final furlong, gained to make a bid near the sixteenth-pole and just missed while able to secure the place. GERRYMANDER went straight to the front, was put under tight restraint in the three path on the first turn, gave up the advantage while placed under stronger restraint coming to the three-quarter pole, prompted outside from that juncture, was let out in the two path on the far turn then asked near the quarter-pole, took a short lead in upper stretch, led under a drive into the final sixteenth but was caught while able to get the show.
