Chart notes
BALTA set the pace in the two path, drew clear when subtly let out passing the five sixteenths pole, inched away in hand in upper stretch and held sway under confident handling while never asked for his best run. PONCE DE LEON tracked along the inside, chased on his left lead in upper stretch, gained place at the furlong grounds just before changing over, but failed to threaten the clear leader late. FLOTATION STATION pressed the leader from the three path, but failed to keep pace leaving the five sixteenths pole, yielded through the lane and lost place to an inner rival at the furlong grounds. STOKE THE FIRE saved ground off of the pace, vied for fourth with an outer rival through the lane and prevailed for that position before being asked for an extended gallop out. ONE SHARP TIZ chased outside of the top pair and from the four path but faded at the three furlong pole. GREERS FERRY broke a step slow, lacked speed in the four to six path around the turn and made little impact. SABRES raced off of the pace in the three path and faded. TIZZY INDY trailed in the four path and got outrun.
