Chart notes
MALIBU CLASSIC away alertly, prompted the pace four wide then two wide into the stretch, drifted out to the pace path despite right handed urging and was along in time. ON HIS TOES vied for the lead three then two wide, surged late and got up for second. SMUDGE THE CAT away alertly, set a pressured pace along the inside until deep stretch then was outfinished. THE EQUINEST saved ground and went evenly. ST. LUKES failed to menace. STRONG AGAIN had speed from the start inside, shifted two wide and drew closer between rivals nearing the seven sixteenths pole, was in a bit tight nearing the turn, steadied and dropped back to trail the balance of the trip.
