Chart notes
MEGA MOON reserved from the inside, traveled along the rail, tipped out in upper stretch, split foes past eighth marker then kicked clear. CRYPTO MAN shifted over leaving the chute, stalked inside, found clear path along rail into the stretch, rallied into contention passing eighth marker, could not go with winner later but safely held the place. RUSSELLS HUSTLE chased from the inside to the final turn, shifted out five wide entering the stretch, was bothered and forced out in chain reaction event in upper stretch, had rider lose his stick then was bumped in hind quarters by CLASSICALLY, recovered and finished gamely for third from the outside. ST IGNACIO angled over early, stalked bit off the rail, advanced four wide around last bend, lugged inward in upper stretch, straightened away, came back out under left handed pressure, was straightened away again and outfinished for third. FAST CHAD saved ground chasing the pace, tipped out two wide into the lane, angled back to the rail in the stretch and finished well inside. SON OF THUNDER tracked leading pair while bit off the rail, came out slightly, bumped outside rival then checked off heels of rival in mid-stretch and never recovered. ADVENTURESOME forced the pace into backstretch, bid and gained slim advantage a furlong out then weakened in the late stages. CRYPTOHOLIC set the pace under pressure from the inside, resisted when challenged on last turn and into the lane, ceded the lead passing eighth marker and weakened. CLASSICALLY stalked pace two wide into the first turn, continued two wide on the backstretch, prompted midway through the second turn, swung around rival four wide into the lane, brushed on hind end in upper stretch when floated out by SON OF THUNDER, subsequently was bumped by same rival took an awkward step, shifted out and bumped RUSSELLS HUSTLE approaching the eighth pole, took up and hand ridden to wire. MOONRISE DRIVE off slow, went to rail entering the first, trailed throughout and never involved. FOLLOWING A STEWARDS INQUIRY, ST. IGNACIO WAS DISQUALIFIED AND PLACED NINTH FOR COMING OUT AND BOTHERING RUSSELLS HUSTLE, SON OF THUNDER AND CLASSICALLY.
