FORWARD MOTION Vied for the lead along the two path, drifted in some entering the lane appearing to be clear, opened up some when asked and was under pressure to prevail. THE INSTITUTE Took up sharply at the half mile pole, two path into the turn, four wide out of it, drifted in some at the furlong marker taking away NUMBER ONE DILLON'S path and then closed well. BREAKING STONES Broke slow, saved ground into the turn, slipped inside into the lane, took up when the winner drifted in some, chased and weakened. SAMAY Unhurried along the three path, angled wide and made a late bid. N Y ANTHEM Ducked out at the start, forced the issue, three path on the turn, chased and weakened. HORN OF PLENTY Hopped at the start, checked at the half mile pole, four wide on the turn and weakened. NUMBER ONE DILLON Close up four wide on the turn, checked at the furlong marker and weakened. A stewards inquiry was posted concerning the stretch run. Also a claim of foul was lodged by the rider of BREAKING STONES against the winner for interference into the stretch, was not allowed.
