Chart notes
AWESOME BOURBON made an early move to get a great inside position at the five eighths marker, sat behind the leaders waiting to pounce on the turn, bullied way through between runners at the top of the stretch and gamely finished up drawing clear at the wire. COLONEL MUSTARD settled near the back three wide, was nudged throughout the turn keeping pace with horses, shifted five wide having a clear path for run turning for home, loomed the threat in upper stretch but was outfinished by the winner late and settled for second best in a solid effort. BLAST IN THE SNOW took command from the start, had a slim advantage setting the pace on the turn, was clinging to the lead in upper stretch, collared at the furlong marker and gave way to the top two still holding easily for third at the finish. UNCAPTURED MOMENT was nestled behind the leaders on the rail in the beginning, could not keep position with five eighths to go inside, shuffled back to near the back into the turn, recover to be in the hunt four wide at the top of the lane and ran evenly in the final furlong for a minor share. BASKETBALL JONES prompted between down the back straight, chased between foes on the turn, could not find more turning for home with rivals on either side and faded at the eighth pole. RENEGADE SERENADE broke slow to trail considerably down the backstretch, could not catch up to the field on the turn and showed late interest to pass tired runners down the lane. DISSECTOLOGIST stalked four deep down the backside, offered a mild turn of foot four wide around runners three furlongs to the wire, swung out widest in the seven path to be have a chance for share of the prize, could not sustain the run and tired at the furlong pole. MUSICAL SPELL pressed the issue three wide in the early stages, could not maintain position with other rivals were quickening with five sixteenths to go, angled six wide for the stretch run and retreated in upper stretch.
