Chart notes
CITY TRIPPER tracked the pace, moved up on the two path through the turn, bid outside the leader into the stretch, made a steady gain and drove clear late. LUCKY SMILE sprinted away from the field bearing out, straightened down the backstretch, drifted out mildly through the turn, then weakened the final furlong and held the place. GOVERNOR ATWOOD well placed and outside, looped three wide through the turn, came four wide into the stretch, drifted out under left hand urging, then drifted back in under right hand urging and could not gain the final furlong. NICE STAR never far back, held position inside through the turn, came through into the stretch and had no rally. CLOSE KNIT was never involved.
