Chart notes
LUDWIG showed good speed, disputed the pace on the outside then in the three path on the turn, spun four wide into the stretch, battled gamely with multiple opponents in the drive and narrowly prevailed while out-nodding the runner-up at the wire. FRAT PACK brushed with a rival at the start, was well placed towards the front, came under increased encouragement in the two path on the turn, was driven three wide into the stretch, chased the leading trio into the final furlong, gained to make a bid in the final sixteenth, fought on even terms to the last jump and was denied while losing the head-bob at the wire. BOURBON BASH settled off the pace, was asked while moving from three to five wide on the turn, rallied outside to make a bid in upper stretch, battled on even terms for the lead into the final sixteenth, fought determinedly to the finish and just missed while narrowly able to get the show. CHILENO broke out and brushed with a rival, was urged along off the pace, went three then four wide on the turn, came six wide into the stretch, chased outside into the final furlong, gained fast into the final sixteenth and closed with a rush to just miss. AWESOME NATIVE was urged along on the inside of a rival, went two then three wide on the turn, was driven five wide into the stretch, gained into the final furlong, lacked room behind horses into the final sixteenth then paused while altering in and missed the superfecta. DAUFUSKIE ISLAND was hustled from the gate, contested the pace, vied inside on the turn, was asked for his best in upper stretch, battled under a drive into the final sixteenth then was out-kicked. LAFITTE'S FLEET was ridden along towards the back, went around the turn in the two path, came out some into upper stretch and lacked the needed response. CAPE TRAFALGAR was well placed just off the pace, chased inside on the turn and came up empty. BAYTOWN BEAR tracked the pace on the outside, was asked four wide on the turn, chased into the final furlong and tired. OCEAN'S RESERVE had the reins break at the start, had the rider do his best to stay board while lacking much control and was eased then walked off. Copyright 2026 Equibase Company LLC.
