Chart notes
SPLIT STRIKE stalked the pace on the outside then in the three path on the turn, was asked coming to the quarter-pole, took the lead in upper stretch, shook clear outside the sixteenth-pole and held under steady urging. MARCO T. moved in outside the nine-sixteenths, was well placed while rated just off the pace, saved ground on the turn, was given her cue at the five-sixteenths, swung four wide into upper stretch, chased the winner into the final furlong, gained into the final sixteenth and finished well but missed while clear for the place. RED BURGUNDY was hustled to the front, showed the way down the backstretch, vied in the two path on the turn, was asked near the quarter-pole, lost the advantage under a drive in upper stretch, battled with the winner into the final furlong and weakened but was clear for the show. WOKE UP QUICK came away from the gate under urging, was taken up while having his path taken outside the nine-sixteenths then dropped back while climbing, moved out then leveled out some around the half-mile pole, traveled around the turn in the two path and lacked the needed response. DIXIE PHARAOH settled under some urging, went three then four wide on the turn and failed to threaten. PLAY FREE BIRD was coaxed along off the pace, saved ground on the turn and was no factor. SOLO RYE'D shied outward and was off a step slow, was urged along at the back on the outside, went around the turn in the three path and failed to impact. WINE RESPONSIBLY leaned in at the start and was off a step slow, was urged along on the outside, went three wide on the turn and came up empty. KHADULLAH broke out at the start, was rated just off the pace under snug restraint, came under urging in the two path on the turn, spun four wide into the stretch while just off the heels of a rival and capitulated. STATE OF READINESS was a bit fractious behind the gate, dropped back while climbing some early, saved ground on the turn and showed little.
