Chart notes
BRIMESTONE KID was off mid pack, raced in the two path, launched a bid at the three eighths pole, then faltered in the stretch. EASY BIG BOY stalked the front runners from the two path, stayed inside through the turn, was cued at the quarter pole, responded well by closing ground racing in between foes, closed well all the way until the wire getting up for third. BIG SCULLY used his natural speed to get to the front, took the lead and raced in the two path, set the pace until the five sixteenth marker, was challenged by another rival who had been pressuring the whole trip, battled with that one, had the inside advantage but gave way in the stretch. WESLEYAN stalked the early leader from the three path, kept the pressure on the leader, was given rein at the five sixteenth pole and drew beside the leader, battled, took command by the the quarter pole and drew off bu the eighth pole securing the win. DOUBLE TRAP raced from mid pack, stayed on the rail early on, shifted into the six path in the upper stretch, struggled to switch leads and faded. ONE TOUGH CHARLIE stalked the pace from the four path, launched a bid at the five sixteenth pole, then stopped in the stretch. XANTHUS WRATH was off a touch slow, raced off of the pace, launched a bid at the three eighths pole, angled into the six path through the turn, was under heavy encouragement, shifted eight wide in the upper stretch but made little progress. AMERICAN SMOOTH was off in the middle of the field, raced five wide, was asked at the quarter pole,, responded well and out finished the rest.
