Chart notes

MAGGIE bumped hard with a rival at the start, was coaxed along on the inside, drafted along the rail on the turn, was asked with a clear rail opening at the quarter-pole, came through to make a bid inside of the pacesetter in upper stretch, took the advantage under a drive outside the sixteenth-pole then drew clear under steady urging. BABY SOX broke out at the start, raced just off the pace between foes, was asked in the four path while outside on the turn, gained to make a bid outside the quarter-pole, took a short lead in upper stretch, drifted out under a left-handed crop coming to the furlong marker, switched to a right-handed crop while losing the advantage outside the sixteenth-pole and was outfinished while able to secure the place. SERENADE SOLDIER was hustled to the front, showed the way down the backstretch, vied in close to the two path on the turn, was asked near the five-sixteenths, lost the advantage under a drive in upper stretch, fought into the final furlong and weakened while well clear for the show. PHINNEYS HARBOR broke in and bumped hard with a rival, tracked the pace down the backstretch, was asked in the three path on the turn, chased into the stretch and tired. GOODBYE KYLE veered out at the start then was corrected by the rider, chased the pace on the outside under heavy left-rein pressure, dropped back quickly while lugging out badly late on the backstretch, went seven wide under a vigorous left-handed grip early on the turn, was guided back to the five path then moved to the four path nearing the quarter-pole and had nothing left.
