Chart notes
MAU MAU raced in the three path around the first turn, settled off the pace on the inside for the run up the backstretch, saved ground around the far bend, began a bid passing the quarter pole and kicked clear. WHITAKER raced in the two path early, chased the pace setter on the outside up the backstretch, began a bid coming around the second turn, was carried out to the five path entering the stretch and chased the winner home from there. CLASSIC KING saved ground around the first bend, tracked the leader on the inside up the backstretch, began a bid passing the three eighths pole, floated wide into the stretch and was outkicked in the final furlong. TWITTY CITY raced off the pace in the four path between horses through the opening half mile, came around the far bend in the three path and was not a threat to the top three. KENTUCKY PEERLESS raced in the three path early, stalked the leaders on the outside up the backstretch, continued around the far turn in the four path and showed no kick. WILBERT led the way from the two path around the first turn and up the backstretch, gave way from the two path coming around the second turn and faded in the lane. NOMOREMRNICEGUY saved ground around the first turn, continued up the backstretch at the back of the pack on the outside, swung out to the five path coming around the second bend and was empty in the stretch.
