Chart notes
DEVILS ONLY FRIEND quickly established a clear lead, showed the way racing on the inside, responded when roused, dug in gamely on the rail when challenged in midstretch and determinedly held off the runner up. LOST A LEGEND stalked the pacesetter early on, chased on the turn, rallied two wide nearing the furlong marker, moved up alongside of DEVILS ONLY FRIEND to challenged and dueled to the wire. TRUEBELIEVE chased three wide early, then two wide on the turn, rallied mildly on the rail and dug in to save the show spot. SHIMMERING LEROID raced off the pace inside, came three wide into the lane, rallied mildly outside and just missed for third. BOOM BOOM KABOOM raced two wide off the pace, came three wide into the lane and lacked a rally. PRACTICAL WAY raced off the pace inside, steadied nearing the turn, then failed to threaten. NINTH OF APRIL trailed the field and did not factor.
