Chart notes
PEPE AND HEYWOOD dueled on the inside up the backstretch, saved ground around the bend and dug in gamely in the lane to hold the win. POSITIVELY AWESOME dueled on the outside up the backstretch and around the turn and continued to battle gamely to the wire, narrowly missing. MERU raced in the middle of the pack on the outside through the opening stages, continued around the turn in the three path, began a bid approaching the quarter pole, gained ground and was outkicked in the final furlong. JUPITER BLUES raced off the pace up the backstretch, saved ground around the bend and improved position in the lane while never threatening the top two. LOVERBOY LOU raced in the middle of the pack on the inside early, navigated the turn from the two path and showed no kick. APACHE raced in the middle of the pack between horses up the backstretch, came around the turn in the three path and was empty in the lane.
