Chart notes
ROMAN EMPRESS stalked three wide into the turn, came four wide into the drive, bid four deep between rivals midstretch and proved best late. AWESOME TAYLOR got crowded a bit shortly after that the start, chased four then five wide around the turn, had the rider lost the whip while offering a challenge five deep in upper stretch, kept to task under hand urging and got outkicked by the winner. VEGAN stalked two to three wide on the turn, bid between rivals at the top of the lane, took over midstretch but got outkicked in the late stages. TROPICANA GIRL stumbled badly and brushed with inner rival, went up to duel from inside, fought two wide into the lane, battled on down the stretch and faltered late. QUIET SECRETARY dueled for command from outside, inched ahead at the five-sixteenths pole, lost command near the three-sixteenths pole and weakened. DRIZELLA was unprepared and tossed her head at the start, trailed on the inside to the stretch and failed to menace. FOLLOWING AN INQUIRY, THE STEWARDS RULED THAT DRIZELLA WAS NOT AWARDED A FAIR START AND IS RULED A NON-STARTER.
