Chart notes
ON THE ENGINE rated off the early leader early on, dropped while racing under a hold midway down the backstretch, raced near the inside at the quarter pole, angled out to race four wide and finished well to edge clear under strong handling. PRINCE OF CAPS dropped back off the early going, moved up three wide near the quarter pole, raced from the far outside in the stretch and rallied gamely to secure second placing. FUN LOVIN CRIMINAL settled under a hold early, raced near the inside past the quarter pole, angled four wide and moved up in a willing effort. STAR SHOPPING prompt the early leader two to three deep from the outside and weakened the final eighth of a mile. CAVALRY COMMAND showed good early foot along the inside and gave way. RIPKEN void of early speed, raced four deep near the three sixteenths pole and had no response. STIMULUS MAKER raced at the back of the pack early, was three deep down the backstretch, raced from the inside into the upper stretch and lacked a bid. UNORTHODOX raced with the second flight early, swung seven wide into the upper stretch and had no late rally. PRINCE OF PORTLAND raced from the outside and failed to respond.
