Chart notes
DESI'S REWARD was three wide into the first turn, stalked the pace three wide under a hard hold, then made a two wide bid on the turn and drew clear leaving the quarter pole, then maintained a safe margin to the wire to prove best under a drive. SUZY Q THE QUEEN was rated on the inside, angled out in the stretch and closed well, second best. DANCE STEP was four wide into the first turn, chased the pace on the outside, then fell back, three wide on the far turn and advanced four wide off the turn but had no late kick. DUNE JUMPER chased the pace two to three wide but lacked the needed rally. CATALENA was bumped at the start, rated early, shifted out and made a four wide middle move to press the pace from the outside, then tired after six furlongs. MERGER OF EQUALS was well placed on the inside and tired.
