Chart notes
WEEHAWKEN prompted the pace down the backside, hounded the front runner on the turn, pounced for the lead three wide at the top of the stretch and was kept to the task late to hold safe at the finish. GOOGLY EYES was checked mildly soon after the break, co-trailed on the outside in the third flight throughout the turn, rallied finding clear running room in the two path straightening out for home and chased the winner in vain down the stretch to be a clear second in the end. ASHBURY rated kindly on the rail tracking the front pair down the back straight, was nestled on the turn sitting behind the top two leaders, shifted outside three wide posing a threat at the top of the lane, switched back to its outside lead at the eighth pole and gamely finished up to hold for third at the wire. SOUPER SINCLAIR tracked three wide outside rivals down the backside in mid-pack, watched the engaged front duo three wide on the turn, offered a mild rally to be in the mix in the four path straightening out on the stretch drive and was one paced in the final furlong for a minor share in the end. RETAIL THERAPIST trailed on the rail in the early going, shifted outside starting a mild run at the three furlong marker, swung out widest in the six path turning for home to be in range of the leaders, could not find more and offered little finish driving to the wire. CLOUD STORAGE took this field down the backside, maintained a slim advantage through the turn, was collared by the winner outside at the top of the lane, offered little resistance and retreated on the fence in mid-stretch.
