Chart notes
LOCKED raced five to three wide around the first turn, rated off the early pace under a hold down the backstretch, raced four wide into the upper stretch to take aim and finished well to prove best under strong handling. THE WINE STEWARD settled off the early pace, moved up three wide around the far turn, dug in near the rail inside the eighth pole and kept on gamely to the wire. GENEROUS TIPPER was unhurried early, advanced through the far turn, swung wide into the upper stretch and moved up to improved position. NORTHERN FLAME raced four wide around the first turn, forwardly placed to lay up close from the outside of rivals down the backstretch, raced four deep around the far turn and weakened in the drive. WEST SARATOGA stalked the pace three deep down the backstretch, raced five wide into the upper stretch and faded. JUST STEEL showed good early foot two deep and gave way the final quarter of a mile. AWESOME ROAD settled off the early going, raced four to three wide in the lane and had no response. BAYTOWN CHATTERBOX pressed while under steady coaxing near the rail and was done early.
