SHOT OF A LIFETIME was forwardly placed into the first turn and stalked the moderate pace from the three path, kept close attendance to the pacesetter through the backstretch run, was roused three wide leaving the three-furlong pole and confronted LIL MIRACLE MAN at the quarter marker, took command into upper stretch, vied with HEAT N REHEAT approaching the furlong marker, turned away that rival into the final stages and drew away under a firm hand ride to prevail. HEAT N REHEAT settled just off of the early pace, came four wide into the backstretch run and tracked the moderate pace to the half-mile marker, raced three wide into the far turn, slipped to the inside nearing the top of the lane and vied for the lead into upper stretch, battled with SHOT OF A LIFETIME into mid-stretch, was turned away into deep stretch and was outkicked, while besting the rest. LIL MIRACLE MAN broke alertly and assumed command away from the start, set moderate fractions while off of the rail into the backstretch run and showed the way to the half-mile marker, came under pressure from SHOT OF A LIFETIME along the far turn and was overtaken into upper stretch, chased to the furlong grounds, weakened in deep stretch and was well clear in the end for third. SUNNY SPOT settled along the inside early on while never far back, tracked the moderate pace while saving ground through the backstretch run, lost ground along the far turn and lacked a late response.
