Chart notes
POUR ON THE COLE never far back, settled outside of runners to begin, tracked the modest pace while well placed through the backstretch run, loomed four wide along the far turn and took command into the stretch, drew to a clear lead at the furlong pole, drew off under hand urging in the final stages and was much the best in the end. BABY FRANKIE was prominent in the early running and contested the pace along the first turn inside of BENNY THE JET, took command along the backstretch run and set a modest pace while pressured to the half-mile marker, held a slim lead into the far turn, was unable to match strides with POUR ON THE COLE into the stretch, drifted out in the lane and chased the winner to the furlong grounds, was no match for the winner in the final furlong and was best of the rest. BEL RAGAZZO settled just off of the early pace, stalked from the two path along the first turn and tracked the modest pace through the backstretch run, advanced three wide into the far turn and vied for the lead nearing the quarter marker, could not keep pace with POUR ON THE COLE into the stretch and chased to the furlong marker, faded in the final stages, was outfinished for second and was well clear for third. BENNY THE JET was forwardly placed into the first turn, assumed command and set a pressured pace while off of the rail into the backstretch run, disputed the pace with BABY FRANKIE along the backstretch run, raced two wide between rivals into the far turn and came in a bit tight nearing the quarter marker, dropped back approaching the top of the stretch and tired in the drive.
