Chart notes
BUCK WILD was settled early, advanced five wide by the quarter pole, angled in nearing the furlong marker and closed to edged away late on the inside to prove best, driving. BEAST OR FAMINE prompted the early pace four wide, made a three wide bid on the turn to vie for command on the outside, then vied for the lead between rivals by the furlong marker but was out-kicked by the winner while staying on for the place award gamely. ACT OF VALOR was well rated early, made a four wide bid on the turn, continued that bid off the turn to loom boldly by the furlong marker but needed more late. AGAINST THE ODDS was settled early, made a five wide move off the turn and loomed boldly leaving the furlong marker but hung late. DIXIE CANNONBALL set a pressured pace on the inside, shook clear by the five sixteenths, but then was collared by the quarter pole, dug in gamely but faded late. MY BLUE EYES pressed the pace two wide early, between rivals by the quarter pole and weakened. HIGHWAY BOUND was well placed on the inside and then came up empty in the final furlong.
