Chart notes
STAY ON THE FENCE bumped inner rival at the start, stalked along the rail into the turn, tipped out and challenged the leaders at the quarter pole, cleared three wide into the lane, drifted in past the sixteenth pole and stayed clear to the wire. J DUTTON bumped leaving the gate, vied for command inside rivals, cleared briefly on the turn before being confronted by the winner at the quarter pole, relinquished the lead shortly after, stayed on from inside through the lane, steadied when STAY ON THE FENCE came in some past the sixteenth pole and held second. BILLY JOE SHAVER bumped with the winner at the start, climbed early and trailed into the turn, angled out and spun five wide into the lane, came with a mild late bid and almost got up for second. STOLEN TREASURE brushed the gate but did not lose much at the start, raced up close four deep, put in a mild bid still wide on the turn and flattened out in the stretch run. JARAMA chased five deep to the stretch and never produced a bid. WHISKEY RYE bumped at the start, chased in the two path leaving the backstretch, steadied behind weakening rival and altered to the rail at the five-sixteenths pole, asked in the lane and could not rally. THIRSTY THURSDAY vied between rivals up the backstretch, could not kick on with the leaders around the bend and tired. BEAR COAST fought for the lead three deep, started to weaken around the turn and gave way.
