Chart notes
NYSOS stalked briefly from outside then raced up close four deep, vied three deep then dueled outside STRONGHOLD past the five-sixteenths pole, inched ahead late on the bend, put away inner rival in upper stretch and drew off under confident handling. STRONGHOLD stalked outside TEJON PASS and MISSION BEACH then went up to challenge for command, vied between three wide into the turn, dueled inside NYSOS past the five-sixteenths marker, fought three wide into the lane, was no match for the winner in upper stretch but stayed on for a clear second. TEJON PASS dueled for command from inside, could not keep pace with outer rivals into the turn, tipped out to the three path around the bend and weakened. MISSION BEACH dueled outside TEJON PASS early then vied between rivals up the backstretch, crossed over to the rail once clear of inner rival, lost touch with the top pair midway around the bend and tired down the lane.
