Chart notes
CHIP'S FRIEND raced off the rail, off the pace, moved up four wide on the turn, came five wide into the lane, rallied outside, charged to the front in midstretch, drew clear and then held well under urging. COWBOY JIM chased on the inside, tracked on the turn, rallied between rivals in the stretch and finished well for the place spot. BLUEY raced off the pace inside, moved up entering the stretch, advanced on the rail, then angled off the inside and closed well late in the two path. BRONX TALE raced off the pace between rivals, moved up on the turn, swung wide, rallied mildly outside, drifted in at the furlong marker and interfered with SHOW EM THE LIGHTS, then continued evenly. CONNECTING raced off the pace inside, came three wide into the lane and closed belatedly outside. BOYS AND BULLETS chased three wide, chased on the turn, came three wide into the lane and weakened. UNION REWARD chased close up two wide, bid two wide on the turn, dueled into the stretch and tired. INDYBOUND set the pace on the inside, dueled on the turn and faded in the final furlong. SHARP SENSATION outrun early racing off the inside, then was pulled up in midstretch to avoid a fallen rival, walked off. SHOW EM THE LIGHTS chased four wide, came four wide into the lane, was weakening, then clipped heels past the eighth pole, stumbled badly and lost the rider, walked off. After a Stewards' Inquiry into the incident, BRONX TALE was disqualified and placed last.
