POPPY'S PRIDE brushed with a rival after the start, showed the way with a clear advantage, controlled the action while inside on the turn, spun three wide into the stretch then was roused, drifted out when put to a left-handed crop near the furlong marker then was straightened by the rider, switched to a right-handed crop near the sixteenth-pole and held under steady urging. BOURBON'S HOPE broke out at the start, was urged along on the outside, moved in some near the nine-sixteenths, went four wide on the turn, was driven six wide into the stretch, pursued the winner on the outside while remaining on his inside lead in the drive and secured the place. RYAN'S CAT was urged along at the rear, saved ground on the turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive, chased the leader into the final furlong and lacked the needed response while along for the show. POWERFULLY BUILT brushed with an opponent after the start, brushed with that same foe early, was urged along on the outside, dropped back near the nine-sixteenths, went three wide on the turn, came five wide into the stretch and tired.
