Chart notes
FLIPPING FISH tracked the leader on the outside up the backstretch, raced in the three path around the turn, began a bid passing the quarter pole and kicked clear. WELL CONNECTED stalked the leader on the inside up the backstretch, saved ground around the turn, found a hole and challenged approaching the quarter pole, raced in tight quarters and cut off ELIOT NESS with that move and then chased the winner to the wire from there. HENRY'S WORLD dueled on the outside through the opening quarter of a mile, continued to battle from the two path around the far turn, couldn't go with the winner in the lane and chased that rival home from there. HE'S IN CHARGE bumped with the horse to his outside leaving the gate, settled off the pace on the rail for the run up the backstretch, saved ground around the far turn and gained ground mildly late. BEAR CREEK raced in the middle of the pack between horses early, continued around the turn in the two path and finished evenly. NOTACATBUTACARD raced in the middle of the pack on the inside up the backstretch, navigated the bend from the three path and finished evenly. GRAINGER COUNTY raced off the pace on the outside up the backstretch, came around the turn in the four path and made no bid. TAPSOLUTION bumped with the horse to his inside at the start, raced in the middle of the pack up the backstretch, continued around the turn in the three path and faded in the lane. ELIOT NESS dueled on the inside up the backstretch, continued to battle while saving ground around the bend, raced into traffic and was forced to check sharply at the quarter pole when WELL CONNECTED came into his lane and was eased to the wire from there. THE RIDER OF HORSE THREE, ELIOT NESS, CLAIMED FOUL AGAINST HORSE ONE, WELL CONNECTED, CITING INTERFERENCE AT THE QUARTER POLE.
