Chart notes
NAUTICAL STAR off a step slow, raced back and three wide, shifted out in upper stretch, accelerated to lodge a late bid, going away end while ridden out. STAYED IN FOR HALF broke alertly, dueled into the turn closest to the inside, shook off the other speed to be clear past the furlong marker, proved no match for the winner. VULCAN also away well, dueled up front outside the runner up, could not match that one the final furlong, saved the show. DERBY DATE back off the pace toward the inside, in some traffic early in the turn, staged a mild rally improve position. EXXEL went one paced throughout while four wide through the turn. COUNT DE MONET forwardly placed for a half, weakened. NAVY SEAL fell back to trail, picked off a few tiring rivals after the issue had been decided. SHOOTERS SHOOT off slow, remained back in failing to threaten. DEFLATER backed up through the lane. ARMAGNAC raced outside, stopped before a half, well back.
