Chart notes
WATSONVILLE raced up close in the two path, moved up to press from outside, took a narrow lead at the quarter pole, fought between rivals into the final furlong, lost command TO ALMENDARES (GB) at the sixteenth pole, then battled back and edged the runner-up. ALMENDARES (GB) stalked in the two path, bid three deep with a quarter mile left to run, dueled outside WATSONVILLE in the final furlong, gained slim advantage at the sixteenth marker but relinquished the lead back to WATSONVILLE near the wire. DANDY MAN SHINES (IRE) was taken back early, trailed near the inside then two wide into the backstretch, raced three deep at the quarter pole, finished willingly from outside and gained the show. PANIC ALARM (IRE) broke a step slow, stalked along the fence through both turns, tipped out at the top of the lane and went evenly late. AH JEEZ tracked from inside to the far turn, tipped two wide and went between rivals, angled inward from behind the leaders past the eighth pole and finished evenly. CALM SEA took control early and moved inside, pressured on the backstretch, headed at the five-sixteenths pole, lost command with a quarter mile remaining, fought to midstretch and weakened.
