Chart notes
BUFFETT vied for the early lead, saved ground around the second turn, drove clear and was kept to the task. BOBBY MERLOT raced within striking distance, forwardly placed throughout, racing behind the top two, proved no match for the winner, but was a clear second. BENISSIMO unhurried in the beginning, made a late rail bid and proved no match for the top two. RED OCTOBER lacked early speed, had an outside trip, made a mild bid and was outfinished for third. ROYAL DE BE void of early speed, saved ground around the final turn, made a mild bid and hung. CORTE raced in the back of the pack and passed tired ones. WILDCATS'S MEOW raced in the middle of the pack and faded. SLEW CITY HENRY raced within striking distance and dropped back. LISA'S GUY dueled on the front end and stopped.
