Chart notes
MAIN EVENT bumped with an outer foe at the start, settled up front around the first turn to set the pace in the two path down the backside, was cued passing the quarter, kicked away at the top of the stretch, faced an outer challenger passing the sixteenth, but dug in to hold on in a photo. KINGMAX (IRE) bumped with an inner foe at the start, rated in the three path, was coaxed while tipping out to the four path midway around the far turn, swung from the five path into the stretch, ran on to bid while still on his left lead in the final sixteenth, but hung for place. JERRY THE NIPPER stalked inside, got bumped by an outer foe and had to steady around the five eighths, then had to wait behind some traffic along the inside around the far turn, was roused from the two path into the stretch, angled out late, and kept on for show. GRAND SONATA raced in midpack in the two path, was coaxed in the three path midway around the far turn, angled out to the six path passing the eighth pole, and stayed on. STONE AGE (IRE) tracked in the two path, bumped an inner foe passing the five eighths, waited for room along the inside rounding the far turn, tipped to the three path at the top of the stretch, but flattened. FORT WASHINGTON was held up in the three path, roused into the far turn, floated out to the seven path turning into the stretch, but failed to bid. MARWAD (GB) trailed in the three path early and never threatened. RUNNING BEE laid up close in the three path, was cued from the two path into the far turn, but weakened between foes in upper stretch. RED RUN raced off the pace in the four path, was driven five wide around the far turn, fanned out to the eight path entering the stretch, but faded.
