CALI CONQUEST tracked the early pace from the second flight, advanced position along the backstretch run, maintained a two wide path into the far turn and chased between runners into the stretch,gained ground at the furlong marker, could not make headway on the winner in the final sixteenth and was outkicked in deep stretch, while besting the rest. WALKING BOSS allowed to settle leaving the start, saved ground into the first turn and was unhurried through the backstretch run, raced two wide into the far turn and was roused approaching the quarter pole, maintained a two wide path into the stretch and improved position at the furlong marker, was not able to impact the top pair in deep stretch but stayed on to get up for third in the final strides.
