Chart notes
CANDY LIGHT had to steady slightly going into the first turn, tracked in the three path, was ridden into the far turn, floated out to the seven path in upper stretch, and drew past the inner pacesetter in the final sixteenth. TIME PASSAGE set the pace inside, was roused passing the three-eighths, tipped out to the three path turning into the lane, dug in to hold on to the lead going into the final furlong, but was caught late by an outer foe to place. SAND AND SEA stalked in the two path, tipped out to the four path and was driven into the far turn, angled further out to the six path at the top of the stretch, and stayed on for show. RIDING PRETTY raced off the pace inside, was coaxed along in the two path around the far turn, angled out to the eight path turning into the stretch, and kept on. JAN'S GIRL prompted the pace in the three path, was roused to bid early around the turn, swung from the four path into the stretch, but flattened in the final furlong. BEECHNUT TROPHY laid up close along the inside, was coaxed along in the two path around the far turn, floated out to the six path at the top of the lane, but faded late. INFINITE DIAMOND chased in the five path, fanned widest turning into the stretch, but did not threaten. MESSIDOR (IRE) rated in the two path early but never menaced. UNA CHIQUITITA (CHI) trailed throughout from the four to six paths.
