Chart notes
FLYING DRUMMER dueled for the lead from inside to the stretch, shook free with a furlong remaining and drew off. CLOUSEAU stalked the dueling pair in the two path, came three wide into the stretch, tried to tip out but got hemmed in and had to alter inward in upper stretch, finished determinedly in the late stages to best the rest but was no match for the winner. DUAL THREAT stalked four then three wide on the clubhouse turn, remained three wide outside a rival into the far turn, came four wide into the stretch and lacked a late bid while edging LOW EXPECTATIONS for the show. LOW EXPECTATIONS dueled for command from outside through both turns, fought to upper stretch, yielded to the winner at the eighth pole and flattened to fourth. BRIGHT LEAF chased three wide early, went four wide around the second bend, entered the lane five wide and failed to menace. MISCHELOF (CHI) tracked along the rail, made progress along the fence through the far turn but flattened in the final furlong. ST. ELMO trailed two wide then along the inside on the clubhouse turn, angled out on the second bend and lacked further response.
