Chart notes
JACKMAN'S RIDE set the pace while being well handled, drew off in upper stretch and was confidently ridden to the wire for trainer J R Caldwell 1000 career victory. GOZILLA was unhurried early then rallied and swung out to be dive wide in upper stretch and closed willingly in late stretch but was too late. RITHM NIC was settled then raced two wide on the turn, made a bid but was no menace to the top two. BLUE LIGHT was unhurried early then rallied two wide in the stretch and was no threat. ALTO ROAD chased the early pace while two wide into the turn, made a bid then faltered. TODDCHERO was unhurried early then failed to menace. CHIEF BRADY was saving ground on the turn and no threat in the stretch. REBEL EMPIRE stalked the pace while three wide into the turn, was used up and gave way. LAMUTANAATTY raced five wide into the turn then gave way in the stretch.
