Chart notes
SGT. PEPPER settled off the early pace four wide, angled into the two path late on the first turn, trailed in the two path from there to the far turn, raced along the rail around that bend, swung four wide in upper stretch, closed outside and was up late. WAR OFFICER saved ground off the pace, angled three wide near the quarter pole, bid between foes and was just up for the place. HOMESTEAD set a rated pace along the rail and led until deep stretch. BEE WELL prompted the pace two wide, checked when in slightly tight in midstretch and dropped back. TYPHOON LAGOON chased the pace three wide and lacked the needed rally. THE STEWARDS CONDUCTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE STRETCH AND FOUND NO REASON TO TAKE ACTION.
