Chart notes
MAYMUN brushed outer rival then went up to take control from inside, drifted out and became rank briefly on the clubhouse turn, moved clear of outer rival and steered back inward around the bend, showed the way up the backstretch, challenged by IMAGINATION early on the far turn, maintained command under coaxing to the stretch, relinquished the lead at the top of the lane, fought back gamely along the fence and edged the runner-up approaching the wire. IMAGINATION raced up close outside the leader then got floated out early on the first turn, closest in pursuit from outside to the far turn, challenged MAYMUN around the bend, inched ahead in upper stretch, carried a short advantage over the winner with a sixteenth left to run but relinquished the lead in the closing moments. AMERICAN HOPE chased three deep into the first turn, got floated out to the five path briefly then moved back inward, driven three wide into the lane but was no match for the top pair. LAST CALL LONDON brushed by the winner leaving the gate, rated along the inside early, lost ground under coaxing still on the fence around the far turn and weakened in the drive. THOMPSON chased two to three wide early, dropped back in the middle stages, fell back further on the far turn, eased in the lane and walked off.
