Chart notes
TOPS THE CHART controlled the pace inside, moved clear then collared in midstretch and held on gamely in a long drive. ROADTRIPTONOWHERE close up inside, bid and was taken up inside the winner at the quarter pole, angled out finished willingly but could not get by. MY IMAGINATION lagged far behind then offered some late energy. SIMOVITCH prompted the pace outside for three quarters then proved empty. OVERLY CRITICAL settled close up outside opening half mile and weakened. RICH'S WAY trailed after the initial quarter moved wide on the final turn and was no factor. TEN GAUGE dropped back into the first turn and was never involved. THE KHOZAN ONE chased off the leaders outside and gave way readily. The stewards posted an inquiry into the incident at the quarter pole and the rider of the second finisher claimed foul against the winner but the result was allowed to stand.
