Chart notes
PLAYING FOR TWO set a pressured pace, contested the advantage nearest the rail on the turn, dueled clear past the eighth pole and held on well with steady handling. GREY FLAMINGO pressured the pace two deep while between horses, dropped back past the eighth pole but dueled through the stretch for second. SPIRIT ON THE WIND was jostled at the break, pressed the pace three wide to the head of the lane but was outfinished in the stretch duel for second. VAN HOOK exchanged contact with Spirit On The Wind then gave chase, rounded the turn near the rail and flattened in the lane. CURVE APPEAL saved ground. DEREKA'S BLUFF exchanged contact with Spirit On The Wind leaving the gate then gave chase, entered the turn about the five path, was fatally injured midway on the turn and had to be euthanized.
