Chart notes
MEAN JAKEY away in good order, dueled up front off the inside, continued to alternate through the turn and into the stretch, held a slight advantage past the furlong marker, continued with good perseverance to the wire to narrowly last and gain the nod. PICO D'ORO back off the pace just off the inside, steered out three wide turning for home, rallied on the outside, closed the gap late on the dueling leaders, just missed. INDULGE broke a step slow, lacked speed in the two path, advanced from between horses into the stretch, inside rally stretch, finished willingly while too late for the top pair. MIDNIGHT MAJESTY broke on top, dueled up front closest to the inside, continued to battle late, weakened in the late stages to lose a couple of positions. CITY OF CLOUDS raced back off the pace outside, three path through the turn, lacked a closing response. HUSKER BUTCH in the main body while four wide through the turn, also came up empty for the drive. FOREVER COOL hesitated at the break to spot the field a couple of lengths, remained back. CAPTAIN JACK chased the dueling leaders up the backstretch from along the inside, began to back up through the turn, continued that retreat in the drive.
