Chart notes
CRIMSON ROSE set the pace up the backstretch, confidently handled on the inside through the turn, met the bid from INDY'S STAR in upper stretch, responded when asked by kicking clear past the eighth pole and drew away late. INDY'S STAR closest in pursuit two wide through the early going, challenged CRIMSON ROSE from outside in upper stretch, could not stay on with the winner in the final furlong and kept on for a clear second. PROFESSORS' PRIDE chased near the inside into the turn, entered the lane two wide and failed to threaten while besting the rest. GRAZEN IN THE SUN broke a step slow then got put in tight between rivals early, chased two then three wide around the bend and could not find a response when asked. TRUE FRIEND got crowded between rivals early and dropped back, trailed on the inside through the turn and failed to menace.
