BARELY FUNTIONAL settled off the pace in the two path, drew closer up the backstretch, waited for room behind the leader on the far turn, tipped out at the top of lane, put a head in front at the eighth pole and drove clear. CITY OF ANGELS stalked the pace from inside, came with a rail bid at the three-eighths pole, took over midway around the bend then drew clear approaching the quarter pole, challenged by BARELY FUNTIONAL in upper stretch, relinquished the lead at the eighth pole and stayed on to hold second. SPEED GRAZY broke a step slow on the outside, trailed six wide into the clubhouse turn then angled into the three path around the bend, chased three deep before tipping four wide on the far turn, rallied to offer a challenge in upper stretch but was outkicked in the furlong grounds. MYSTIC FLYER forwardly placed two wide, had to steady on the first turn then began to pull, continued to tug the rider along early on the backstretch before settling into a smooth stride, got boxed in between rivals through the far turn, cut to the inside in upper stretch and finished willingly for a minor award. NAUVOO dueled briefly then cleared around the first turn, headed by inner rival near the three-eighths pole, lost command shortly after, chased three wide and got put in tight entering the lane and churned on through the final furlong. BRAZENLY off slow to begin, chased five then four wide early, ridden along five deep on the far turn and flattened down the lane. CALIFORNIA TIGER showed early speed then stalked off the rail, bid three deep on the far turn, chased two wide into the stretch and weakened. ON THE WHIM tracked three deep in the early stages, kept off the inside up the backstretch, ran into traffic four deep on the far turn and also weakened down the lane.
