EGOMANIA broke alertly, ceded the early lead to QUE SERA SIR RALPH and stalked that runner into the first turn, raced closest to the loose pacesetter into the backstretch run and tracked the decent pace to the half-mile marker, was roused two to three wide into the second turn and chased QUE SERA SIR RALPH to the quarter pole, vied for the lead into upper stretch and took command at the furlong marker, drew clear into the final sixteenth and pulled away under mild urging in deep stretch. EL JOY settled leaving the start, raced two wide and between runners into the first turn, tracked the decent pace three wide nearing the half-mile pole, gained ground into the far turn, chased three to four wide into the stretch and advanced at the furlong marker, closed into the final sixteenth and got up in the final strides to secure place honors. CONTRARY CHIEFTAIN allowed to settle away from the start, went three wide into the first turn and was unhurried into the backstretch run, maintained an outside path into the second turn and gained ground three to four wide at the quarter pole, continued his bid while widest into the stretch, rallied into the final sixteenth and just missed for second at the finish, while earning the nod for third on the wire. ARTEMUS GORDON settled in the second flight leaving the start, raced three wide along the first turn and tracked the decent pace into the backstretch run, went two wide into the far turn and chased to the quarter marker, slipped inside into upper stretch and loomed nearing the furlong marker, was outkicked into the final sixteenth and just missed for the minor awards. QUE SERA SIR RALPH hustled away from the start, assumed early command and set the pace into the first turn, drew to a clear lead and showed the way into the backstretch run, carved out decent fractions while clear at the half-mile marker, led into the second turn and kept foes at bay nearing the quarter pole, was confronted into upper stretch, overtaken at the furlong marker and faded in the final sixteenth. GROSS PROFIT settled off of the early pace and saved ground into the first turn, tracked the decent pace while saving ground nearing the half-mile marker, saved all of the ground into the second turn, raced in tight and checked approaching the quarter marker, maintained an inside path into the stretch and did not threaten in the final furlong.
