Chart notes
PERPETUAL PRAISE was bumped lightly at the start, went to the front, showed the way down the backstretch, vied in the two path on the turn, shook off a foe under urging late on that bend, spun four wide into upper stretch, drifted out while drawing off under a left-handed crop near the furlong marker, switched to a right-handed crop and was given one pop approaching the sixteenth-pole then was placed under a hand-ride to the finish while much the best. SYNONYMOUS broke a step slow, moved out while urged along towards the rear, went six wide on the turn, dropped to the four path coming to the quarter-pole and safely secured the place. STARRY MIDNIGHT broke in then made light contact with an opponent, was urged along just off the pace, chased inside early on the turn, made a bid near the three-eighths pole, shifted two then three wide while losing touch with the winner outside the quarter-pole, spun five wide into the stretch and tired. I FEEL THE NEED was off a step slow, dropped well behind while urged along, went five to six wide on the turn, came seven wide into the stretch and failed to threaten. MAGGIE broke a bit awkwardly and was off a step slow, was coaxed along on the outside, chased in the five path on the turn, floated seven wide into the stretch and capitulated. ARGENTINA GIRL broke out at the start, was urged along while just behind the leader, chased in the four path on the turn, spun six wide into the stretch and had nothing left.
