Chart notes
JOHN JAY pressed the pace on the outside up the backstretch, came around the turn in the three path and dueled to the wire, edging clear late. TRIPULANTE tracked the leader on the inside through the opening half mile, continued around the turn in the two path and dueled in the stretch, giving way late. CALL ME ICE MAN stalked the pace setter on the outside up the backstretch, began a bid from the four path coming around the turn and was outkicked in the lane. FEAST trailed the field early, raced in the two path around the bend and made up some ground in the lane while never truly threatening. GAME BOY BENNY raced in the middle off the pack up the backstretch, navigated the turn from the two path and faded in the stretch. CLASSICSTATEOFMIND led the way on the inside up the backstretch, battled while saving ground around the bend and tired in the lane.
